2011 District Conference Competition: Create your own Gang of Chicago
Monday, 30 August 2010A competition to create your own Gang of Chicago will be launched at the Changeover following the 2010 District Conference and then run in two sections until the 2011 District Conference.
- Prize for Section one - free registration to the 2011 Conference for a couple, judged and awarded to the winning Rotary Club on 10 October 2010.
- Prize for Section two – the Porirua Cup, for the best display at the 2011 Conference Saturday dinner.
Section one. To win the prize for this section, Rotary Clubs in the District are invited to create and name their Gang of Chicago.
Their members are those intending to attend the 2011 District Conference and it is expected that each member will have an alias reminiscent of the period.
The information of the name, description of the gang and of each member is to be submitted to actions.count@ihug.co.nz by 30 September 2010. See the Entry Form from the link below.
The winning Club will be advised by 10 October 2010.
The following criteria will be used to judge this section of the competition.
- 20 points – for the creativeness of the name of the Gang and aliases of the gang members
- 30 points – for efforts to create a gang identity and story, with references to Rotary and Actions Count
- 20 points for number of gang members – 20 for 10 or more members, 10 for 5 or more members, and 5 for less than 10.
Section two. All entrants in Section one of the competition will automatically be awarded 20 points towards their score for the Porirua Cup, awarded at the 2011 Conference to the Club putting on the “best display” at the Saturday Conference dinner.
Clubs can however join in this second part of the competition any time after September and prepare for their display at the Conference dinner.
All entrants will be able to score a maximum of 80 points during the Conference dinner. These will be allocated as follows:
- 40 points - for creativity of the costumes
- 40 points - for acting in character and for demonstrations of the Gang’s identity.
